Witney is the largest town in West Oxfordshire and is famous the world over for its blanket industry. Sadly the last surviving blanket factory closed a few years ago and much of the land that was once used in the industry has been redeveloped for housing.

The Conservative leader, David Cameron, is the MP for Witney.

Witney has a varied shopping area and local stores share the streets with national and international chain stores.
